Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our Morecambe Maritime Festival 2026.
This festival is community celebration of Morecambe’s Maritime Heritage bringing performers, local community groups and vendors together. Volunteering throughout the year gives you the opportunity to make this your festival.
When people join the festival as a volunteer, we are not expecting a full-time commitment. We work as a team where each person volunteers what and when they can. The form lists the possible opportunities to help create this festival.

Volunteering can be an incredibly rewarding experience, offering individuals the chance to gain valuable skills and experiences.
On completion of their induction, all volunteers will receive (subject to available finance):
- a festival volunteer T Shirt/Sweatshirt when they complete their induction.
- At the end their scheduled shifts free tickets to the evening concert.
The festival will run on August 15th 2026 from midday onwards culminating with an evening festival concert.

Summary of Roles:
- Venue Steward – The venue steward is a key role in assessing the success of the Maritime Festival by monitoring the response to acts in venues and assessing the number of visitors to a venue.
- Leaflet Distribution – Leaflet Distribution Volunteers will play a key role in promoting the Morecambe Maritime Festival by distributing publicity materials to the public to increase awareness and attendance at the festival.
- Bucket Collections – Bucket Collections Volunteers are essential in raising funds for the festival. Volunteers will work in pairs.
- Merchandise Sales – Merchandise Sales Volunteers will manage the merchandise sales table with the goal of raising money for both the festival and the Lifeboats.
- Social Media – includes updating Instagram and Facebook with engaging content, creating visually appealing posts, responding to followers, monitoring trends, collaborating with festival team, and tracking metrics.
- Web development – maintaining our online presence ensuring it is engaging, user-friendly, and up to date with the latest festival news and events
- Fund Raiser – The festival is a community led celebration of Morecambe’s Heritage, Culture, and Environment. As a Volunteer Fund Raiser, you will play a crucial role in enabling the festival to finance its activities.
- Marketing & Publicity – develope and implement effective marketing strategies. This role involves working closely with the Festival Management Team to increase awareness and engagement within the community and to attract a broader audience to our events
- Photographer – Images of the festival are important way of communicating the atmosphere of the festival not only on social media during the day, but also as record to be used as a marketing & plublicity tool for future festivals.
- Festival Team Member – Working with the Festival management team to develop and implement festival activities.
